IHO. BUILDING BETTER COMMUNITIES

About IHO

Irvine Housing Opportunities, Inc. (IHO) was formed in July 1976 through a cooperative effort of the City of Irvine, the Irvine Industrial League, and the Irvine Company to address the shortage of affordable housing for low to moderate-income residents in the City of Irvine. In 1981, IHO developed the first 100% affordable apartments in Irvine for very-low income seniors and disabled residents at Woodbridge Manor Apartments. Today, IHO has broadened its mission and service area to Southern California and continues to be committed to developing exceptional affordable rental housing that is fiscally sound and sustainable.

As a hands-on, mission-driven nonprofit, IHO's staff—with the support of its board of directors and volunteers, is involved in all aspects of our properties from design concept to property and asset management, site amenities, and community building. Additionally, IHO is committed to improving the quality of life of our residents. Our enhanced social services celebrate their diversities and talents and provide a sense of camaraderie that enriches the greater community. IHO continuously researches and leverages community relationships to incorporate intercultural programming, translation services, adult and youth education, wellness and other innovative programming that empower residents, strengthen families, and restore pride and dignity.

IHO has more than 35 years of experience owning and operating quality permanent affordable homes where residents thrive and where bonuses are paid in hugs from our residents and the earned respect of our community partners, local officials, and stakeholders.

At IHO, we enjoy what we do and we welcome the opportunity to partner with others that share our mission, vision, and commitment to excellence.

Stay tuned for our new site in 2012!
